Star Wars...Now in 3D

Well folks, you knew it had to happen! 3D is the latest scam to take our money, so of course Lucas is going to whore out the Star Wars franchise to get some of that cash.
George Lucas has been planning to convert the "Star Wars" saga to 3D in order to re-release all six films theatrically. He has been waiting until there were enough 3D screens available. And according to a Lucasfilm statement, the time has come
Apparently he's going to start with Episode I in 2012, and then work his way through the series over the coming years. This will of course make him richer than he already is, but I'm sure that's something he didn't even think about when he made the decision. And while this news could have been good, you have to remember that the 3D is going to be added after, so don't expect an Avatar-esque experience here. We've all seen how shitty most of these films turn out (Clash of the Titans anyone?), and even though ILM is a leading Sci-fi company I have my doubts about how well this will turn out. Sadly, I KNOW that I'll be one of the first in line when these come out...I'm SO Lucas's bitch.

Behold the True Destroyer of Worlds!

I just found this over at Big Bad Toy Store. For those of you going ga-ga over the SDCC Galactus all I have to say is screw that! This Galactus looks ten times more badass, has the same voice-chip and light-up features, AND comes with it's own herald! For only $55 it's a pretty good deal as well. ME WANT!

Grizzlor: Now With More Hair!

Just found this on
Poeghostal's site. It's the SDCC preview of Grizzlor that's going to be released by Mattel. I don't have much to say about him, seeing as how I never owned one back in the 80s, but I must admit that I was never a fan then and still am not now. One thing that is interesting to me, though, is that the Horsemen have decided to go with fur on the figure instead of plastic. The original also had "real hair" when it came out 20 years ago, and in my opinion it didn't look good then either. It reminds me of stray dog. Really, why couldn't they have just done it in plastic instead? It worked for Beastman, why not have lightning strike twice? I like the two sword touch but man....that hair is just so off putting. Anyway, enjoy the pic.
